Ronson Consumer Products Corporation was formerly based in Somerset, New Jersey, United States. It was a producer of lighters and lighter accessories. Zippo Manufacturing Company currently owns the related brands in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and continues to produce Ronson lighters and Ronsonol fuel.

A former employee shares his experience on indeed.com, "When I was at Ronson I noticed the management felt entitled. They hire friends. The friends they hire area also entitled. If you work hard and make quality parts, someone else will get credit. The shop is dirty. And they appear to have no respect for employees who are not their personal friends."

Operator (Current Employee) says

"You get hired for one thing then end up doing a completely different job for the same wage. Management is clueless.boss son gets to show up late everyday"

CNC Laser Operator (Former Employee) says

"Starting at Ronson (in laser) was a great foot in the door for my educated qualifications, but at Ronson that doesn't really matter. As long as you can count and say your ABC your hired. Daily work life was great vary simple days vary repetitious. Just get your laser set up sheet, load your material, then push a few buttons, check parameters make first part then check holes and quality. Then let it cut then break it down as it came out or stack. During my employment there was a employee that would only stack his jobs but never break them down. which put stress on me because now I had to run a machine and break down his parts. It's not hard work just tedious work with a lot to focus on. Now on the magnet and HR, at first them seem to care and make you feel wanted and valued but in all reality your just an employee number. If you have any problems just keep them to yourself because if told to anyone they just brush them under the rug till you forget. Also if you're wanting to move to different department that you're more qualified for or just wanting better pay you're better off finding a different job. Because Ronson only promotes people that are related to somebody. (which is majority of the company) initially during my first day orientation we were told at 3 months you would receive a raise with your medical benefits, but when that day came the HR department came out to the laser Department talk to me about medical for maybe 10 minutes never mentioning a raise in pay and walked away and that was it. To come to conclusion HR only cares if it involves you getting hurt physicallyPaid half hour lunch for laser Department onlyNo brakes. No pay increase. No communication. Disrespectful coworkers. Unwilling Management & HR"

"clock in and go ask for a job to do they give you a (router) job summary, then you sign in on the job with a computer then go back to your station and do the job. After the job is down you have QC check it if good then you sign off computer and fill out paperwork and tag it for the forklift drivers to pick up and then you repeat.own pacequiet and boring"

Brake Press Operator (Former Employee) says

"I totally enjoyed this job. Lets just say :If it was not for the pay I would of never left. I found this job to be amazing and fascinating. I could take a flat piece of medal and bend it this way and that way to get toolboxes, lawnmower decks, lockers, ect. I enjoyed programming, setting and running the brake press and do my own quality on my parts. I totally enjoyed everything about this job but, the PAY!Learning something newPay"

Bidder/Estimator (Former Employee) says

"Over all a decent job but demanding. Great people to work for and knowledged. A lot of education opportunities to be had. Very challenging. Would still be there if the pay was better.Super work force, Education opportunities, Relaxed atmospherePoor Pay and Benifits"

Machinist (Current Employee) says

"It laid back but to laid back. I like my job just don;t like a few things going on around me. Too much of a personal turnover make it hard to get quality products. And don't expect a rise or yearly evaluation it not happening. It good for an entry level job if you want to get into metal manufacturing.Mon-Fripay insurance"
